The weather has been simply fantastic here in RI over the last week. Sunny and cool, little to no humidity. What more could you ask for?!?!
In any case, I was experimenting with IR this morning and learned that white balance settings play a HUGE part in the end result. For this pic, the color is straight out of my camera and miles away from the purple/red that I'm used to seeing.
This is a great shot. Color, compostion, good use of IR, speed to capture the motion. This is like one of those power bars that has a full days worth of nutrition in a perfect little package (but this is much tastier).
Wow ...What a really cool shot. quite surreal. I think my camera is one of the worst cameras for IR photography there is. The nikon D2X. Your gallery makes me want to get a D70 just for the cool IR and UV photos it can take
I've been playing with IR for a bit, trying to figure out how to get the results I see people like you and (fantastic IR photos, among others) get. I even went so far as to buy a couple book son IR photography. The books themselves were only moderately useful, but I did find a useful link in Jo Farace's Complete Guide to Digital Infrared Photography. I saw one of your photos and a link to your site. I've found more helpful information in your site and the links contained therin than from any other deviant or any books, so thank you for the help. Now I just need to get out and try it!
Dude, I'm flattered by your comments. I recently bought an IR book on Amazon and it was the worst crap I've ever read about the subject, so I'm happy to be a part of Joe Farace's book.
To be honest, IR is still very experimental for me because I refuse to understand the scientific properties of light and all of that crap. I'm sure I'll have to come to grips with it at some point in time, but for now, I'm more than happy making educated guesses, clicking the shutter and being pleasantly surprised.
If you need any help getting into IR, let me know and I'll do what I can. Otay?
Have a great holiday and thanks again for your comments. You've truly made my day.

I'm sure there are beautiful spots in and around saunderstown right on the water, too.
